Frequently Asked Questions
How is pip value calculated?
Pip value depends on the currency pair, lot size, and your account currency. For USD quote pairs (EUR/USD), 1 standard lot = $10 per pip. For other pairs, the exchange rate conversion is applied.
Why are JPY pairs different?
Japanese Yen pairs are quoted to 2 decimal places instead of 4, so a pip is 0.01 instead of 0.0001. The pip value calculation is adjusted accordingly.
What's a pipette?
A pipette is 1/10th of a pip (the 5th decimal place). Some brokers quote prices with pipettes for tighter spreads. Our calculator uses standard pip values.
